为改善西藏民众的燃料结构，支持西藏经济发展，2010年6月，“气化西藏”工程启动。2011年10月，世界海拔最高的拉萨天然气站建成投产酷游ku游备用入口二，槽车运送的液化天然气在拉萨天然气站气化后输送至民众家中，拉萨市结束了作为中国唯一没有使用天然气的省区市首府的历史。2019年7月，拉萨天然气站改扩建完成，气化能力由15万立方米每日提升到35万立方米每日，液化天然气的储备由2000立方米扩能到2900立方米。
